Eastern Washington Riverside Engagement
Are you planning your engagement session? First and foremost- CONGRATULATIONS! As exciting as it is to plan your engagement session, you may feel overwhelmed trying to ensure everything is perfect. From your nails to coordinating outfits, it can feel like a lot of pressure. An engagement session is typically one of the first “big” things couples do to kick off their wedding planning. As a wedding and couples photographer, I’ve heard my fair share of anxieties from my couples. I’m here to let you know that it is okay if your session doesn’t go 100% to plan. Austin and Amanda’s Eastern Washington riverside engagement session is a perfect example of how amazing things can turn out if you just let go of your expectations.
Eastern Washington Engagement
When Austin and Amanda first inquired, they mentioned that they wanted their engagement photos to be captured on the water. We initially planned to take their photos on Lake Coeur D’Alene. Unfortunately, as I headed to the lake on the day of their session, huge clouds started to roll in. I called up a friend who lives in Coeur D’Alene to see what the weather was like; naturally, it was torrential down pouring. I called up Austin and Amanda to suggest we pivot. Just a week prior, my family and I discovered the most serene spot on the river that I knew would be perfect for engagement sessions. Despite having to pull under an overpass to avoid golf-ball sized hail, once we all arrived to the river, we had blue skies welcoming us.
Now, I don’t want you to think that your photos aren’t a big deal. Your engagement session is such an exciting time in your life. And if I could give you one piece of advice, it would be to let go of perfection. Sometimes things go wrong – and that’s okay! Whether you get a snag in your blouse (photoshop is my friend), your dream location is closed for maintenance, or it rains… know that it will all be okay. Your love and excitement to be be married is easy to be photographed no matter where we are.
