Capturing Nicole and Justin’s pregnancy announcement photos at James Slavin Conservation Area in Spokane was such a joy. The euphoria that comes from a mama and daddy-to-be is something that is just so contagious. Not to mention their sweet Golden Retriever, Jack. P.S. always bring your pup!

Nicole was definitely drawn to James Slavin Conservation Area and knew that she wanted their photos taken there. I don’t blame her; the wide open field and towering pines in the background make for such a picturesque landscape. She actually first discovered my work from a snowy maternity session I did in the exact same location! Safe to say, she knew exactly what she envisioned. The conservation area offers so many of the reasons why Nicole and Justin fell in love with the PNW. The Arizona natives just couldn’t say “no” to the mountains and wilderness the PNW has to offer! Having been here for about 1.5 years, they are loving every second and are even more excited to raise their baby boy in such a beautiful environment. In a few months we’ll be taking their maternity photos on Lake Coeur D’Alene to further capture the beauty of Nicole’s growing belly and the Pacific Northwest!
For their pregnancy announcement photos, Nicole brought matching Mom and Dad hats to wear (and even a little bandana for Jack). Every pregnancy announcement is so unique to the couple, and I loved that these two took their own spin on it. I’m looking forward to all the moments that are yet to come for this sweet family as they prepare for their baby. Reason #1872 why I love being a lifestyle photographer.
