Samish Island, Washington Intimate Cabin Wedding
Some of my favorite things (in no particular order): beach days, in-love couples, families joining together as one -so basically, Carley and Shelby’s Samish Island, Washington intimate cabin wedding was right out of a storybook for me. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, watching these two start the rest of their lives together was truly special.
Carley and I met in college and became roommates my senior year. Witnessing her life unfold, and seeing God lead her and Shelby together makes my heart so full. They met on a blind date through mutual friends, and had their first date was at a restaurant overlooking Bellingham Bay. After a couple dates of hiking and dinner, Shelby finally kissed Carley on their 5th date and told her he “didn’t need more friends in his life”. The rest, as they say, is history.
Samish Island, Washington Intimate Wedding
Flash forward to their wedding day on Samish Island, overlooking Bellingham Bay, just 40 minutes from where they had their first date. Every little detail of the day was full of so much care and intention. But my favorite part of the day was just how much Carley and Shelby included the kids. Rory and Mae got ready with Carley and Shelby, and stood along side them during the ceremony as well. After the “I do’s” were said between the newlyweds, the guests partook in communion before a beautiful family-style dinner. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the rest of the evening was spent celebrating at Carley’s family cabin, while overlooking the bay.
It is not lost on me just how lucky I am to capture such pivotal moments in my clients’ lives. From engagement session to wedding days, maternity, and newborn sessions, I am spoiled. It is such an honor to be trusted to document these monumentous moments.
