Spokane, Washington In-Home Family Session
There’s something so special and heartwarming about photographing a family in their home. When Randi and Josh reached out to schedule their Spokane, Washington in-home family session, I was giddy with anticipation. Their sweet baby boy, Mason, had us belly laughing the entire time with his big smile.
I first connected with Randi and her husband a few years ago when they turned part of their farm into a wedding venue. I had the opportunity to do a styled shoot at the new venue; Randi and I hit it off immediately! I’ve been lucky enough to capture several real weddings at their farm since, and it still brings me just as much joy. Their entire family has been so welcoming since the beginning, and I’ve always felt at home at their venue.
In-Home Family Session
Capturing their in-home family session felt like a beautiful extension of a beautiful friendship. I had the honor of taking maternity photos while Randi and Josh were expecting Mason. There were several times throughout their in-home session that I had to pinch myself; it never gets old taking maternity photos and then newborn or family photos. Witnessing the absolute joy on Randi and Josh’s faces as they marveled over Mason brought me to tears. Knowing how long they had prayed for Mason to finally seeing them as his parents made me melt.
During this Spokane, Washington in-home family session, I also realized how much fun it is to photograph babies who are over 6 months old. Mason’s personality was really showing as he pulled at Josh’s teared and gave us the gummiest grins. So don’t feel pressured to take photos as soon as your babe comes home (but, why not do both!?).
In-home sessions are one of my absolute favorite things to photograph. If you’ve been hesitant about capturing photos in your own home because it’s “a mess” or “not done yet”… I want to encourage you to still take the photos. In years to come, you will wish that you had.
